slim digital camera

Digital cameras have become more and more popular since their first appearance in 1988 and through the 1990s, the popularity and quality of small point-and-shoot 35mm cameras pretty well drove the film SLR camera out of multitude minds.

When thinking about in buying a Slim Digital Camera or a DSLR Camera, do not make a blind purchase – all available information on the Internet to check prices and specifications.

The small cameras were pocket-sized, easy to use, and produced delighting pictures but certain characteristics are priceless for the demanding photographer like large optical zoom with full control and interchangeable lenses.

Point-and-shoot cameras commonly are automatic and adapt depending on the environment and lighting and also let you manually modify the focus , preset settings such as exterior, interior, sun, etc.

Good quality digital cameras that used to cost $500 are now available for between $200 and $300. Digital SLRs that used to cost over $2,000 without a regular lens are now available between $700 and $1,000, complete with lens and in some cases with the basic accesories.

So the question is, with such quality and variety now within your economic means, which is for you? An SLR with interchangeable lenses and a big sensor, or a highly-capable pocket-size that carries a lot of functionality into a more compact package? The answer depends on several elements, and you need to know a few basics about both All-in-one digicams and digital SLRs before you can select what you really need. The separate classes do exist for a reason, as we’ll see.
